On June 27, a unique "rule of law practice class" was staged in the moot court of Jiangsu University Law School. The Jingkou District People's Court "moved" the real court trial into the university hall, and jointly wrote a new chapter in the collaborative education of colleges and universities with the teachers and students of the School of Law. Zhang Chuanjun, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and President of the Jingkou Court, Xu Liqiang, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice President, Li Jun, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Full-time Member of the Adjudication Committee, and Ding Xiaoming, President of the Jianbi Court; Zhu Lingping, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Law School of Jiangsu University, Fang Xiaoxia, Vice Dean, and Liu Tongjun, Director of the Discipline Development Committee, attended the event.
At the beginning of the event, Judge Shu Fangcheng of the Jianbi Court of Jingkou Court presided over a real elevator maintenance contract dispute case. The solemn trial site fully presented key links such as evidence presentation and cross-examination, court debate, etc., and teachers and students immersed themselves in the rigor and standardization of the trial procedure. Focusing on the core disputes between "service performance standards" and "payment obligations", the confrontation between prosecution and defense clearly demonstrates the essence of judicial practice.
Law students then took over the "gavel" and carried out moot court practice around the social hot case of "a friend fell to his death after getting drunk at a dinner". The students accurately grasped the role positioning of judges and agents, and showed solid legal skills and critical thinking skills in the court argument.
Wang Kun, vice president of the Zhenjiang Lawyers Association, highly praised the performance of the students in his professional comments, and gave valuable guidance on key links such as trial norms, procedural awareness, use of legal terminology and allocation of the burden of proof.
Zhang Chuanjun, president of the Jingkou Court, spoke highly of the whole event, especially praising the moot court for "the orderly arrangement of cases and accurate role interpretation, which fully demonstrated the excellent potential of Jiangsu University law students", and also encouraged the students to continue to improve their court investigation and questioning skills. He enthusiastically said that the cooperation between Jingkou Court and Jiangkou University Law School has a deep foundation, and the door of the court is always open, and he sincerely invites students to come for internship and exchange, and looks forward to outstanding graduates joining the Jingkou Court family in the future to jointly contribute to the construction of the rule of law in Zhenjiang.
This activity successfully built a solid bridge between legal theory and judicial practice through the shocking education of real court trials, the practical tempering of moot courts, and the attention of experts. In the future, through multiple forms such as judges' lecture halls, joint construction of internship bases, and joint project research, the two sides will strive to build a highland for the cultivation of rule of law talents in the new era of both morality and law, and continuously inject youth into the cause of the rule of law.
