On June 12 and June 19, the 17th and 18th Academic Salons of the Faculty of Law were held in the conference room of the college. The 17th Academic Salon was delivered by Mr. Zeng Jian, with the theme of "On the Differential Application of the Prohibition on the Sale of Human Cells in Article 1007 of the Civil Code", and the 18th Academic Salon was delivered by Mr. Shuai Honglan, with the theme of "Development and Testing of Scales in Empirical Research in Law". Li Bingshuo, Dean of the School of Law, and teachers such as Jiang Haifeng, Jiang Xuesong, Zhang Jian, Du Leqi, Lei Wanlu, Zheng Shujun, and Guan Yue participated in the event. The salon event was presided over by Niu Yubing, vice dean of the School of Law.

During the activity, Mr. Zeng Jian analyzed the practical challenges faced by the ban on the sale and purchase of human cells in Article 1007 of the Civil Code, discussed its medical and legal roots, and believed that the countermeasure to resolve the challenge lies in the differentiated application of the ban on the sale and purchase of human cells, that is, human cells belonging to the category of personality are included in the scope of the ban; Cells directly derived from the human body are not allowed to be bought or sold for ethical reasons; Human cells that have been cultured and passed in vitro can be restricted without prohibition.

Teacher Shuai Honglan shared the issues of scale development and testing in empirical research from the perspective of legal empirical research, and believed that the scale preparation stage should focus on the in-depth excavation and accurate analysis of the theoretical foundation, and strive to ensure the rationality and logic of the scale construction. The test stage should focus on strict verification of the reliability and validity of the scale to ensure the reliability and validity of the scale measurement results.

In the two salon activities, Jiang Haifeng, Jiang Xuesong and other teachers conducted in-depth discussions on the topic of the thesis and put forward their own opinions and suggestions.

Academic salons are an important form for teachers to carry out academic exchanges, discussions and exchanges. At present, the college has built a variety of types and forms of academic seminar and exchange platforms, including Hairan Academic Lectures, Lu Tao Law Forum, Academic Salon for Graduate Students and Teachers, and Love Reading Club. The college will continue to play the role of these platforms to create an academic atmosphere of the college, promote organized scientific research in the college, and help the high-quality development of the college's disciplines.
