On the evening of October 13th, Professor Yan Tingdong, a full-time professor in the Department of Finance and Law at Ming Chuan University, was invited to our school to give a lecture. The theme of the lecture was "Frontier Issues in Antitrust Law (Fair Trade Law) Research." The lecture was hosted by Associate Professor Du Leqi, the director of the Department of Economic Law and International Economic Law at Jiangsu University Law School, with Professor Wang Jian from Zhejiang Sci-Tech University as the discussant. More than 100 faculty and students from the Law School participated in the lecture.
During the lecture, Professor Yan Tingdong introduced the relevant aspects of antitrust law in Taiwan from six perspectives, which are regulations on monopolistic conduct, regulations on joint conduct, regulations on vertical restraint of competition, legal liability, leniency programs, and rewards for reporting joint conduct. He also conducted in-depth discussions on important aspects such as monopolistic conduct and joint conduct through case analysis.
Professor Wang Jian from Zhejiang Sci-Tech University conducted a comparative analysis of the antitrust laws in mainland China, Taiwan, and the European Union. He pointed out possible issues with the current laws, leaving the students with ample room for contemplation.
